This lower level remodel was aimed at creating an updated space for entertaining and enjoying time with a more grown-up family. Walls and niches in the space, were rearranged in subtle ways within the basement’s existing areas to create a more open and streamlined living space. Finishes were updated throughout to create an exciting and rich palette without distracting from the room’s purpose. There is still plenty of space for the family to hang out and play.

Children can only share a room for so long. For this family of six, the time had come to carve out a new space for their son. The existing unique roof line provided the inspiration for a dormer-like addition over the study. Even with the single room addition, this project brought a number of individual challenges. The most important of these being to maintain the family’s routine by leaving the existing surrounding home as intact as possible. This project was a 2013 NARI Contractor of the Year Local Winner in the Residential Addition category.

With more than enough room, this master bath had the potential to be a showpiece space with luxury to spare. Upon living in the home, however, the existing space did not live up to our client’s original expectations. With inexpensive and now out-of-date materials throughout, and a disregard for the scale of the room, the master bath was less than ideal as the dream bath the homeowners desired. The remodel’s goals were to reevaluate the space usage and floor plan, better integrate the larger scale of the room into the design, and inject updated style into the space with timeless material choices, better suited to the luxurious and elegant bath the room could be for our client.
