This year we will be seeing simple, neutral colors in home interiors. If you’ve flipped through the pages of some of the top home décor magazines, looked for color ideas on the web or checked out shows on HGTV, you’ll see that many designers are using beige, gray, white and blue on walls. Undertones are important in colors and we are also seeing “greige,” a color created by mixing gray and beige, in their palettes.

With advances in media technology, time spent at home with family and friends often centers on watching a movie or sports event and “cocooning”, especially on a cold winter night. Knobs, pulls and hinges can give your cabinets and drawers a distinctive look. There are many designs, styles, shapes, sizes and materials to choose from that are both functional and decorative. There’s no place like home and more people are opting for “staycations” by creating personal backyard retreats. If you have a family with school age children, are a “Baby Boomer” with adult kids and grandchildren or are a person who loves their home, a yard with amenities such as a pool, hot tub, outdoor cooking area, firepit, outdoor fireplace, foot paths and gardens is a delightful haven. The best part is that it’s just outside your back door.
